Scrotoplasty

Scrotoplasty is a reconstructive/cosmetic procedure used to correct abnormalities of the scrotal skin or contour (“penoscrotal webbing”). It may be performed for conditions such as excessive scrotal skin, scrotal webbing, prior surgery, trauma, or other anatomical concerns.

The specific technique depends on the underlying problem and may involve removal of excess tissue, reconstruction, or reshaping of the scrotum. Recovery is generally outpatient, with swelling and discomfort expected for several days to weeks.

Risks include bleeding, infection, wound separation, scarring, altered sensation, persistent swelling, and the possibility of needing additional reconstruction.
