Phimosis occurs when the foreskin cannot be fully retracted over the glans. It may cause pain, difficulty with hygiene, recurrent inflammation, or difficulty with sexual activity.

Treatment depends on the severity and underlying cause and may include topical therapy or surgical treatment, including circumcision when appropriate.
