A spermatocele is a benign, fluid-filled cyst often containing sperm, arising from the epididymis (the small organ that sits atop the testis and stores sperm). Most are asymptomatic and require no treatment, although larger or symptomatic lesions can cause discomfort or a sensation of scrotal fullness.

Evaluation generally involves examination and ultrasound when the diagnosis is uncertain.

Management includes observation or surgical excision for selected symptomatic patients.
